Sample article: every name, title and detail here is fictional and is used only to preview the Geek Devil design.

Hollow Signal drops you into a remote radio station after its staff vanish. With little more than a torch and a tape recorder, you piece together what happened.

Sound and fear

Sound is everything here. Static, distant voices and creaking metal do more to unsettle than any monster.

Where it stumbles

When the game does ask you to fight, the controls feel stiff, and one late section leans on trial and error.

Our verdict

Atmospheric, tense and smartly designed, with only a few clumsy combat sections holding it back.

What works

  • Outstanding sound design
  • A memorable, cleverly built setting
  • Puzzles that feel fair

What doesn't

  • Combat feels stiff
  • A frustrating late-game section
